Default Accordion HST

I thought I've seen every HST method under the sun but apparently not.
Entertaining if nothing else. Not sure I'd want to use this method but
you never know. Maybe one day when I'm bored. LOL

Thanks EasyPeezy for posting this video. I haven't seen this method before as well. It looks fun to sew them...its the cutting that I would most likely goof up. Amazing how many ways there are to make hsts. Have a quilty day!

Very interesting. I'll have to try that some day. Thanks for posting.

Interesting! Clever! But is it really a time saver?

I do like the trim tool...but will stick with sewing one set of squares at a time.

I think it would be fun until it wasn't--you know, when you sew on the wrong side after sewing 5-6 correctly? I screw up often enough with 2 layers, this method could send me "over the edge." But the trim tool is kinda cool with those slots for dog ear cuts.

I like that trimming tool! I wonder if that method could be adapted to other trimming rulers?

I got the impression it wasn't about "saving time" so much as a way for scrappy quilters who don'e want "repeat" hst to chain piece quickly and easily.

I took a class back in the late 90's how to do this. But without the new rulers we have now to trim them up it was time consuming. What I did was do one to get the strip down the middle and made a quilt using that as a block unit. The quilt looked great. I don't have it anymore, my DD left it at camp, never to be found again.
