I just started started making the disappearing 9 patch on April 29th and is so much fun. I am making a lap quilt and all made from fat quarters!

I found a tutorial to share with all of you online.

What wonderful and interesting site. I truly enjoyed it and also the tute is great. A really new way to use "scraps" and the "plain" 9 patch to make it so much better. Thanks a bunch. Kutnso

I made one from a Civil War charm pack that turned out very nice. So far I have only the top done. Ihad it assembled once, but ripped it apart as the quilting I did was pretty shaky. So now I am going to try again as soon as school is out. I will post a photo when done.

Thank you for sharing. I like this Christmas-table-topper & plan to make one. I printed a copy (printer friendly), just in case, coz Christmas is still a long way to go.

I made one of those!! It's in my quilting frame now. At our BOM one of the ladies suggested the idea as an experiment, so I call it my experimental quilt. So far I've gotten some nice compliments.
I would put on a picture if I knew how... I'll check into that. But it isn't finished yet anyway.

Let me see if this works. Like I said, this is in the early stages. I'm not too far from having the quilting finished... and looking forward to the binding stage!

thank you! I am hoping the yard work doesn't slow down the quilting process. I'll post it when it's done.

    Melody -

I've done several D9P quilt tops for my quilt guilds for comfort quilts (charity) so don't have any pictures, but I really love your arrangement - looks great with your fabrics. Hope you don't mind if I snag a picture for myself as a reminder of how pretty they can be.

Gilla, I've never seen a Civil War Charm Pack! My husband got me interested in the CW, so I'm also on the lookout for more fabric! Where did you find your Charm Pack?

At a LQS (Quilt Haus 830-620-1382) in New Braunfels, TX. I know they have the fabric (lots)at another LQS here in San Antonio, but I don't know if they have charm packs. I bought my border fabric there. If you like, I check it out for you.

Seventh Heaven has two charm packs, Home Front & Crossing. I haven't seen them, so I don't know what they are. This is the one that has lots of CW frabrics. Their website http://www.seventhheavenquiltshop.com. Their fabrics run 8 - 10 per yard.
The other one I am not sure whether they still have CW fabrics. Their website is http://www.quilthaus.com. Their fabrics are in the same price range. Hopew this helps.
