Here's something I just stumbled on that might be useful to quilters. I think if I were doing it I would search this site for a better way to stabilize the dye. She's after a watermark look, which is necessarily pale, but most of the time quilters will want something more permanent, and perhaps more intense. Once the glue has been removed, you could over-dye it with a second color.

That's a good point. I imagine you could do several in succession, just as in traditional batik. I'm probably not so ambitious. I hope others will post pictures if they try this, both of fabric and any that's used in a quilt.
