Talking Fabric heart bookmark is fun to tuck into a card.

http://sewmanyways.blogspot.com/2014...e-pattern.html

I received a heart bookmark in my birthday card from a friend. I just love it!

I decided to make one to tuck inside a Valentine to my Mom who loves to read. The photos show the front and back. The back has the small pocket that slips over the book page. I forgot to take a photo of the heart used in a book but you will see how it is placed by going to the link.

Fun, small project to make for Valentine's day or anytime!

P.S. I ironed light weight interfacing to one 4" square to make it more sturdy.

That is a great idea...I know three people who will be getting one! Wonder if it could be stiffened up a bit, for more body....

This would make a great gift for Valentine's Day for all of our book friends. Thanks for the tip.

Nice idea. Geri, I think it could be made with a lightweight interfacing pressed to one side of the heart.

Yes Geri B, light weight interfacing is what I used to iron on the wrong side of one 4" square. I made the first one without the interfacing and it was flimsy. I have only used quilting cotton so far.
