I have never found TM to be that thrifty. In fact I think they're quite pricey. It may be the region. I prefer estate sales to save money on fabric.

Made my first visit to a tm while on a trip to Destin. Found two cutting mats. The biggest was around 16.00. I was an American Crafts brand.

None close to here 25 to 50 miles away. Never been to one. But same for Joann's, Hobby Lobby and others.

I've gotten two really nice fat quarter bundles of Westminster fabric at my TM. 29 FQs for around $35. They don't get them in often but I keep checking. I could kick myself for passing up the last two I saw. Debated whether or not to get them cause they really weren't my style and decided to pass. Now I'm seeing all kind of patterns that would be perfect in those fabrics. Bet I won't pass them up if ever I see another bundle.

TM sells high end over stock or sell out merchandise. The sale price is a bargain when you see the same brand in high end stores at the regular selling price. If you are ever in Saks or stores like that check out the prices. The clothing is the best bargain. Not a duplicate of them in any local clothing store near me.

I look for bargains too. I have started using the Walmart Mainstays brand flat sheet, twin size, 66 x 96 inches, 200 thread count, to make pet beds for the local animal shelter. It washed up very nicely and since it is flat, I get almost five yards of fabric for around $4. It comes in around twenty different colors, pastels, darks, neutrals, and even some prints.

Oh, and WM is only ten minutes away versus every other fabric or thrift store. If I start looking for fabric, I can waste a whole day.
