I am looking for a resource on where I may locate Black fusible fabric (on the heavier side) that one can make this "green" shopping bags you see in all the stores now. I need it Black as I am using it for a light grid for soft light boxes that photographers use. I've found it in white locally but don't know if this type of fabric is dyeable. Can anyone help me out here. Thanks so much :?

I've seen black fusable interfacing in my local Joann's store. It is on the bolt. Where in MN are you located? I shop at the Joann's in Coon Rapids

Welcome from southern California. I think I have seen it in the JoAnns here in Ventura County.

The black interfacing I've seen at Joann's in Rosevile and Maplewood is not the strength that I need for this project. I need it heavy duty. The only place that I've seen it heavy duty is Harris Fabrics outlet but unfortunately its it white. Have you ever dyed this fabric?

Have you thought about the nylon flag material. I have ironed webbing on it to make it fusible & it is thick. I machine embroider on it & then put on jackets that are too bulky to fit on machine.

Welcome from another Minnesotan! Wish I could help with you question, but the last time I saw the type of interfacing you are seeking was in Joann's, but that store is no longer in our area. Good luck on your search!

Yes, I did check out R Harris, I did find it in white but not in black. I might have to go back there and buy a yard and try dying it if I don't have luck finding it elsewhere.

I haven't seen the heavy duty black fusible fabric at Joann's only the lighter weight stuff. I've been to almost all the Joanns ETCs in the Twin Cities.

What you may want to do is find some fabric and then Walmart has some iron on adhesive. Hope that helps.
