On the last 2 quilts that I made, I pieced the back. On one, I did 3 pieces vertically and on the other one I did it horizontally. I love doing this because it gives me the opportunity to add some creativity to the back as well as the front! I really like it when I have seen quilts with some orphan blocks on the back. It is just a nice touch.
