Yes, they can be used for fabric! Youtube has tutorials. I have cut lots of fabric with the Cricut. I bought a mat that I have keep only for cutting fabric, I don't go back and forth from paper to fabric on the same mat.
I put the heat and bond side down on the mat, fabric side up. Hasn't dulled a blade yet, and the fabric has never frayed. I set the pressure for light cardboard-type paper. Works great! My sister has never had a problem cutting fabric with her Cricut.

Read the fine print on the coupon, most of the time it excludes cricut and other name brand systems. And if it doesn't jump on it.

Check out Michaels. Last week they had them for $89.00. I almost bought one.

I think it's a different one, they have several models.

The one at JoAnns this week is the higher end model. But I don't know for sure....

FYI Last week the cricut was $125 at our local Wal-Mart. It was the 24" one. I don't know if it is still there.
