Hi Geraldine, If I'm understanding her instructions, all the edges are on the bias?

Missouri Star's Hunter Star has a lot of bias edges too, but I've seen a lot of beautiful quilts come from it

No, you cut the strips on the bias, sew those cut edges together and cut on the straight of grain.
I like the grid method better. here is one of many examples:

I've seen this method described in a couple of my quilting books as well. The authors refer to them as "bias squares".

I am with PP, I much prefer the grid method when needing to make a lot of HST that are the same.

The grid method has worked well for me in the past, but it is interesting to see this other method that is also good for "mass production". Thanks.

That seems like a lot of measuring and work to finally get to the HSTs. I prefer the Easy Angle ruler for HSTs. If you want 2.5" HSTs, you cut 2.5" strips and then cut the triangles down the strip with the Easy Angle ruler. Quick and easy and they go together well. I rarely need to trim anything after sewing.

The Easy Angle ruler was the best thing I ever learned about from Bonnie Hunter.
