As far the magnetic mat. I have one that is small. Tuesday Morning store sold the small magnetic mat with ruler for a long time. Probably still available in other stores, made for scrapbooking. It is just the right size to cut hsts or fussy cut smaller pieces. It works great, the fabric does not move.

I bought my first Go a long, long, time ago. I didn't want to buy it until I actually tried it. A local (well 20 miles away) shop offered a little applique wall hanger class where you used the Go to cut out the applique shapes. So I signed up. That day we had sleet, but I got in the car and very carefully drove the 20 miles to the shop. When I got there, turns out the owner had cancelled the class because of the weather. Oh dear! She took pity on me, and I had a one-to-one class after which I bought a GO. I bought most of my dies on sale and just replaced the GO this past fall when the Holiday Sales were going on and got that at a good price too along of course with a number of the cutting matts which on sale to get enough for free shipping.
