If you add too much cornstarch thinking more will give stiffer results, don't. It will stick and burn on the bottom of your iron.

We used to make our own spray starch before it became a commercial product. I never heard of using a cornstarch solution without cooking it and then diluting it. How can it work?

lots of interesting possibilities. :-)
patrice - what proportion water to starch do you use? i don't use cornstarch and i use 50/50. i buy liquid starch in the laundry product section in the supermarket
and mix it in the spray bottle.
