I need a pattern for a large tote bag--bkig enough for a quilt or other large piece to take to guild, out of town, ect.
If anyone would be able to refer me to a pattern, I would appreciate it.

Google the Schlep Bag...the pattern is online for free. It makes a really large, roomy bag that will hold a quilt in process or several smaller projects. I have 2 and just love mine!! I use them all the time.

Thanks Janice,
It looks roomy, as you say, and also easy. Just what I need!
Thanks so much!

I love this pattern as you can make it any size you want from scraps and it's reversible.

If you want to buy a pattern I really like "Chubby Charmer" It makes a bag big enough to put a 9 X13 casserole dish in the bottom. The whole bag is big enough for a large quilt

Our Guild used a Log/Quilt Carrier Pattern on the Sew4home website, increased to size to a 30 x 48" size (just remember to increase the size of the handle holding sections to 12" x 12" to accommodate the incease in carrier width). It goes together quick and is large enough to hold up to four quilts.
