Default News About Thayer MO Fabric Shop!

I was just at the Thayer Fabric and Rug store in Thayer MO yesterday.

Mrs. Porter told me that they are going to close it down soon. Their closeout sale will start in September and she is hopeful that it will be finished by the end of September.

If you have been putting off going there, you better go soon.
Their fabric is name brand quality and is mostly $4.99 per yard. Some of it is between $4.99 and $6.99.

This is very sad news but I understand why they are doing it. They are both in their late 80s.

That is sad news... hope they enjoy their retirement.

Well, you can still write poems into your 90's. Have fun.

Another LQS is lost. My parents were from Thayer and a little quilt shop will be sorely missed in that town.

She mentioned that they would probably travel some when they retire. They are such a sweet couple. And they will talk your ear off too!

Is this the same folks I've seen post here as Thayer Rags or something like that?

I just found out that Mrs. Porter has had a series of "small" strokes. She is in a rehab facility. I don't know when they will be having the sale. I'm not even sure if they will have a sale now. Not sure how things are going to go. I'm hoping that she recovers enough to go home and enjoy the rest of her life.

Does anyone know if Mrs. Porter was able to come home? They were such a lovely couple I hope she didn't have to leave her home permanently.
