when i was learning to sew on my mother's singer in the early 60's, i used this attachment for the button holes. i thought it was pretty slick.

They are still in use and make a great buttonhole. I recently purchased one from a board member for under $10.

what impressed me was doing applique and putting piping under the stitches.. even to monogram a letter.. very cool.

Thank you for sharing the site. I have the buttonholer and also used it in the 50's and 60's. I think it makes the best buttonholes. much more precise and durable than modern ones.

I have this buttonholer. Wouldn't make a button hole without it. It's easier than what has to be done to make button holes on the new machines. I love, love, love mine.
