I have to say I'm really behind in reading the board so this may have been posted already. These were demo'd at our last quilt party and if the link doesn't work just do a search for "10 minute table runner" and it will come up as a PDF file.
http://www.sweethomequiltco.com/user...e%20runner.pdf I have the fabric to make a couple but haven't tried them yet. |
Thanks so much. As a newbie, am always looking for projects like this.
So simple, sew cute!!
I had to read the instructions a couple times before it was clicking in my mind. If and when I get any made I will post a picture.
What fun, thanks for sharing!
Thanks, I love doing table runners and tops. They are so quick and sometime I want something that I will finish to the end. LOL
Mine is not opening. What am I doing wrong?
Do you not put any batting or flannel inside? Or quilt it? or sew around the edges? I guess I'm a little confused....but I do llike the idea for quickie gifts!
I made those for gifts for nieces, sisters, sister-in-laws, and friends for Christmas. They made great gifts and sewed up so quickly... I added decorative stitching, yo-yos, or even applique at the ends....looked great...
Did you take any pictures?
Funny thing. LQS took this pattern added fabric and made kits. You couldn't get the pattern unless you bought a kit. They do that alot even though the pattern is out there free somewhere.

I've made several of these. Here are a couple of christmas ones. I love them. They can be table toppers, or wall hangings, anything you want, any season or holiday.
I ironed on light weight fusible interfacing to the back side of the fabric so they weren't so flimsy
Thanks for the replies, and thanks for the pictures. I get it now.....this old brain sometimes needs a kickstart!!
I have made several of these for Christmas presents. They are so easy!
Thank you for these instructions - being a new quilter, I sort of had a mental block on even creating a table runner, but this just looks so simple, I think I can do it! Thank you.

It is a very nice looking table runner. Made 18 for Christmas gifts. Some of the girls from our group now made Valentine, Easter, etc from them also.
Thanks for the very nice pattern (idea).

Here is a picture of the ones that were demo'd at our quilt party. A little different from what the other lady posted, but I like both ideas. I hope the picture comes through.

Good picture! What a marvelous idea for gifts....any and all holiday time. Thanks for sharing this with us.

Help, I read the directions but I not getting the tube part. I would like to try this.
Thanks, great easy idea.
Thanks, it looks pretty simple and easy. I might give it a try!
I have made this and the directions I have tell you that placemats can be made the same way by just adjusting the size.
This is my LQS, and we received this pattern at a mini-retreat before Christmas. Guess what lots of folks got from me for Christmas???
If you get to Atlanta, come east on I-20 to Conyers and visit Sweet Home. You'll be glad you did. Note: I don't have any affiliation with them, except that I shop there (LOL)! |

Once you get the hang of it, it does go quick. I must tell you though that my first one took me 2 hours, really, and I am not that slow. Part of the problem was the border fabric was striped and so I was anal about making sure it was straight. Loved it when it was done.
They look fantastic. I'm going to make some of these. Thanks for the idea.
Thank you!

I went into this site, even though it says 15 minutes, it look like the same thing only with pictures. I'm a little dyslexic, so I like pictures.

I'm the same way. I can look at directions ad b/w pics and do the strangest things trying to get the pattern right. It's always been a problem. Now I'm learning to deal with it better by accepting the results of my "artisitic elements."
My "just can't cut it quilt" was renamed "just can't cut it right". It turned out great. |
I did a bunch of them for Christmas. They are easy, fun, and beautiful. I got the pattern from a lady at a quilt retreat I went to in Choteau, Montana
Our Quilt Facilitatior here in California, shared this pattern in June- We were so enamored that severel of us made too many, and ended up giving then as gifts. We even added Jumbo rick rack to hide the seams on top. Halloween, birthday and other holidays are lots of fun to make. One even made hers a double length. Thanks for the free pattern.
Thanks so much for this link...Will be making several, and in placemat size for a craft show I am doing later in the year.
thankyou - always grateful for quick gift ideas.
