Just stumbled upon this and thought how clever, she even gives you the math for making them any size!

ckcowl 12-05-2012 12:18 PM

Amazing, just amazing!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 12-05-2012 03:16 PM

It's like drawing Thangle paper on your fabric. Great idea! Another one of the many "why didn't I think of that?" things.

dakotamaid 12-05-2012 04:18 PM

leatheflea 12-06-2012 01:12 PM

I agree with you gals, I just made 750 hsts using a printable paper, now I've gotta pick off the paper...UGGG! I wish I had found this tute a few weeks ago.

Jingle 12-06-2012 01:29 PM

That would have been very helpful when I was cutting all the hst for my big Christmas tree wall hanging. Thank you for posting.

I tried to click on the windy city site, but it says the page does not exist. I can tell others have seen it, and I would like to also. Could you PM me with this link? It's not that old, so I don't know why I can 't get it.

mimiknoxtaylor 12-09-2012 09:34 AM

Mavita, Try this. Or you can put a search in for sewinginthewindycity.blogspot
You have to remember to put in those pesky periods too.

I tried this technique yesterday and all my 32 HST were i/2 inch too small.

ppquilter 12-10-2012 06:05 AM

when i saw this tute i figured I would use it so I copied and pasted it to a word doc and now it is in my docs. i love to make minis so thought this would be perfect for lots of mini quilt things!

susiequilt 12-10-2012 08:35 AM

I'm sorry I can't find it! It's just what I will need in January.
I did notice the blog seems to stop with Feb 2012 so maybe the rest of it was deleted or corrupted somehow.
Those of you that do have it might consider doing a tutorial on here for the rest of us!
Please!

ppquilter 12-10-2012 06:25 PM

I just tried it with 2 ten inch squares and my blocks came out just a scant over 2 inchs. So for minis i might try two 9 inch squares and two 8 inch squares. Any one else try it yet??

Grace creates 12-10-2012 06:27 PM

It is coming up unavailable

renda 12-11-2012 03:22 PM

I tried it using her math to make 2 1/2 squares. Ours came out too small. Plan to work on the formula tomorrow. Will try to work out the math and post. Give me a couple days.

nlclubb 12-12-2012 03:48 AM

I wanted to make 3 1/2 inch finished squares. Using her math, mine came out to 3 1/2 inch unfinished squares.

skjquiltnut 12-12-2012 09:26 PM

So frustrated! I would love to try this method, but it will not display anything except the box stating that it does not exist. Can someone re-post this technique? Thanks
Me Too!, again and again....can someone post the info for those of us unable to access Wendy's instructions?
