I'm doing Inklingo, and it's going together nicely for me. But if we do more chevrons, I may try the strip method, even if the waste kills me.

So far, I really like the base, but this is my first Quiltville attempt. I'm not into a lot of her colors overall, and I am not a scrappy lover. Give me yardage. Doing some Gen X blocks were bad enough but, I'll keep going along.

As for hints - I'm slow on figuring out patterns. So I've just got a bunch (king sized, small sized, half small sized) chevrons and half diamonds. I can lay them out nicely, I just don't know what they're going to become. Are we making blocks through the 3rd? Eh, I still won't have a clue.

Podunk, Love your color combination. Your blocks look great. Inquiring minds want to know, How did you make your blocks?????

Your patches look perfect, Podunk. I'm struggling with getting mine square. Just watched the Inklingo videos and I'm thinking maybe that was the way for me to go. How did you do yours?

I didn't do anything different from the way Bonnie showed in her video. The thing that really helps me with my piecing is that I use a 1/4 inch foot with the metal guide on my Bernina. Now that the seams are consistent, my pieces come out right (if they are cut correctly..LOL). When piecing the chevrons, I made sure I used a "scant" 1/4 inch seam.

That teal I used on the outside of the first units is lowish, but one of the math whizes on the yahoo quiltville list said we were 27% finished after clue 1, so don't think we'll be using much more of it.

three of the five fabrics I'm using is inherited yardage and I've got plenty of that. Funny, in all my 40 years of quilting I've hardly ever bought yardage.
When I made my blooming nine patch it was really a struggle to find pieces big enough to do that last three rounds. Love that quilt though, even though the fabric makes on sense. Doesn't matter with that pattern really as it is a blender quilt pattern.

Clue 3 tomorrow!

That really helps to sew a quarter inch. I sewed one block and found that I wasn't sewing a quarter inch.

Kalama: Thanks for the update on the use Bonnie's blue. It's Friday now so I've seen the clue. When I saw the unused pieces I knew HST were in our futures.
Sheri" Congrats on #1 finish. Love your colors, so vibrant!

Whoa, I sure need to get busy. Clue 1 and 2 are not finished and lo and behold, Clue 3 appears. I can attribute it to ADQD, Attention Deficit Quilting Disorder. Too many quilt projects in progress.

Sheri, nice work and a gorgeous color combination. What did you use for the green?
