So if you use one of these laser lights to do straight line quilting for lets say half square triangles...doesn't the laser end up pointing at your chest??? How good is that???
The laser isn't going to touch anything. LOL! The light beam extends approx 2-3 inches passed the needle onto the fabric to show "where" the stitching will happen. |
Cool idea! I wonder if I could use this to teach my Granddaughter to sew a straight line........lol
That would also work when sewing clothes, handbags etc. The require larger seams, line up the laser to which ever seam allowance is needed and place cut edge of fabric along the line. |
I have that same laser. It works just like the photos in the link you posted.

Harbor Freight is near us, I’m going to buy one and try it. Thanks.

laser to machine
I have had a laser light on my machine for a couple years and use it once in awhile. If I am making 1/2 sq triangles I use it as it makes it quicker to sew. Just be sure you have your machine on a firm cabinet or table as it will move otherwise. I have never used it on my serger as the foot has little lines telling me where to stitch.

Has anyone done any research on whether staring at his beam for hours on end might be damaging to eyesight?
