Came across this link. Check it out.. No we don't have a topic that says links. http://www.themotherhuddle.com/how-to-organize-fabric/

That's an idea I'd never had thought of. I'd need 50 of those little carts for my stash though

LOL. i thought that too but it would be great for larger pieces of material. Now if we can stack them we might be on to something.

That would be great for a strip piecing project like a bargello.

Actually, we do. It's called "Links and Resources" - http://www.quiltingboard.com/s-4-1.htm

Click on the "Home" link above. You'll get a listing of the topics you are subscribed to. If "Links and Resources" is not one of them, you can get to it by clicking the "all sections" link. That will display all the sections of the board. This page allows you to jump to any section and manage your subscriptions - you can choose what sections are displayed on your homepage and therefore which ones show up in your recent topics listing.

Maybe design something like a cross between hanging file folders and this rack? They use the same concept for the frame :-).

If you have a closet you could do this. Use chain/rope whatever and additional rods to hang down and create multiple levels.

A lady here while back was using file cabinets to store fabric in this same way only was out of light and dust and could lot more in same amount of floor space

You'd need a lot of space and larger pieces of fabrics but it certainly makes it easy to see and access.
