LOL. i thought that too but it would be great for larger pieces of material. Now if we can stack them we might be on to something.

That would be great for a strip piecing project like a bargello.

Click on the "Home" link above. You'll get a listing of the topics you are subscribed to. If "Links and Resources" is not one of them, you can get to it by clicking the "all sections" link. That will display all the sections of the board. If you have a closet you could do this. Use chain/rope whatever and additional rods to hang down and create multiple levels.

A lady here while back was using file cabinets to store fabric in this same way only was out of light and dust and could lot more in same amount of floor space
|
You'd need a lot of space and larger pieces of fabrics but it certainly makes it easy to see and access.
