This looks like a really *cool* hoop :-) I found if online under their custom offerings. Has anyone used one of these yet and if so, what do you think of it?

I would really like one of them. I have a laptop hoop but it just sits there on top of my lap. Looks like this one would be easier to use.

This one turns 360 degrees, and can be tilted to three different positions. I think it may be lighter and definitely cooler than those that have solid base bottoms. I'm trying to convince myself that I really need one of these :-)

I love his Demos..I am considering one

That is an awesome hoop! :D:D:D
Isn't the designer a member here? |
I do not have one, but have been looking at them and dreaming. I don't do enough hand work to justify needing it. I think the quality is very nice.

I succumbed. I ordered one -- yes, it's a luxury, but I'm worth it :-)
I've also been watching Jean Brown's video on YouTube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZeSSyueipPw and think her way of hand quilting is totally brilliant! So I ordered an *Aunt Becky* tool [I hate having my finger pricked] and her deep well tip kind of thimble [Needleart] and so am just waiting for everything to arrive to try it all out. My pre-pre-pre Christmas gifts to me :-) |
Wow!

This technique on the you tube link is facinating. Do any of the members do it this way?
|
I don't know, but I'm certainly going to try it! I'm waiting everyday now for the hoop, the Aunt Becky tool, and the Needlart thimble to arrive. It may take awhile for it to come by post across the US/Canadian border, though. I've got enough hand quilting projects here to finish that I can practice for months, maybe even years :-)
