I saw these a few years ago and actually considered one for when the power is out - but then realized probably wouldn't be able to see well enough!

It was probably retro fitted as a treadle. There is a gentleman that does that here for the Amish. amazing, huh? With me it's the peddle to the metal!

Actually it's on the Janome website as a treadle.

The Amish buy and use treadle machines. Even Bernina gets converted to treadle.

I have the real thing. However, I also have a spare treadle base and this would be useful because it has zig-zag capability. So I would be interested to see how well it functions in the zig-zag mode. I have often said I really only need a machine that sews forward, in reverse, and zig-zags. This would appear to fill those requirements. I would like to see some reviews and comments.

I bought a brand new treadle at a yard sale from a couple that returned from overseas somewhere, I think Japan, and bought it there. Most machines in eastern countries are treadles. The machine they bought back was a Janome. Nice wood cabinet and shinny black sewing machine. I paid $40 for it- divorce sell.
