I imagine there are lot's of people wanting these, especially the Amish, people living off the grid, etc.!

Wonderful to see that the manufacturers are still making machines for those who don't or can't use electricity because it is not in there area!

I saw a You Tube video where a fibre arts teacher, I think from San Francisco, takes his treadle machine into the streets and sets up and repairs peoples' clothing for free. It is an ideal tool if he can't get access to a power supply. Evidently he has regulars and it appeared to be a nice project.

We have several amish families in our community and they do have access to our "modern" items. They have a community milk house for all of them to take their milk to. It has a phone and electricity for other devices. They have common computers, radio for weather news, etc. They hire farmer neighbors to drive them to drs. or other places too far for horse and buggy. It is pretty interesting to watch their way of life. Not my thing though. I'm spoiled and not that tough.

Same here. I get upset when the power goes off for a few hours.

Anyone living in the Denver area that is interested in an antique treadle, I have one I will sell for $75.00. Machine parts move, but need to be cleaned and oiled. Decals still in pretty good shape. Cabinet needs work on it. All parts are still with machine. I bought it at a yard sale for $75.00 and have never taken the time to fix it up. (Already have one that I've cleaned up, so have not felt moved to invest the time in this one.) The lady I bought it from said it was her MIL's and they brought it to Colorado from the East somewhere, but she did not know anything else about it. If you're interested in seeing it, just pm me. the antiques only go back and forth. not so great for garment sewing.

the amish may not have computers, but they work in places that do where people are happy to search things out for them and they talk to people that do. a modern all-around machine would be fine as long as it isn't electric. also, a number (not all) of amish who work in the towns are picked up by their employers in cars, as long as they don't do the driving.
