I hate folding fitted sheets,so I found this tutorial that really works good.Hope it helps others that feel the same way that I do.

watterstide 09-07-2010 02:25 PM

Fold them? not in my liftime!
they sort of get sloppy folded, along with the flat sheet and 1 pillow case..then it all goes in the other pillow case, just grab it and go change the bed! lol

finch 09-07-2010 02:32 PM

That is how I used to do it too.But it was taking up too much space in my linen closet so now they lay nice and flat and I have room to spare. I can't say that I will be doing this forever, but for now,it is working.

sunrise450 09-07-2010 02:39 PM

That is just about the way I fold my fitted sheets. My daughters love me to help with laundry (do it) and they tell their friends they always know when their mom has been there. Well,at least I'm noticed for something! lol

harvsstuff 09-07-2010 02:42 PM

 I fold my similar to the video but this is a lot neater then mine. I also iron my pillowcases. Old school I quess. Denise

finch 09-07-2010 02:43 PM

What a great mom!!!!I am sure that you are very much appreciated.

HELLuvvANGEL 09-07-2010 02:43 PM

that was pretty ccol! but i really like the QUILT on the bed hehe

SueDor 09-07-2010 02:44 PM

My mil told me to do it like that but folding it in half from top to bottom not side to side.

debbieumphress 09-07-2010 02:55 PM

Thanks, I am going to look. Might be able to learn something.

AnnaK 09-07-2010 03:06 PM

I could just not be married to this man. He is way neater than I am!!

CarrieAnne 09-07-2010 05:41 PM

LOL, Anna!

Aussie Quilter 09-08-2010 01:51 AM

Fold sheets? Off the line and straight back onto the bed. Love the sunny smell of fresh sheets.

:-D :-D That's exactly what I was going to say!

Irishlady 09-08-2010 03:00 AM

Loved the video and maybe if I was 40 years younger I would fold my sheets, but at 62 I now realise life is far too short to spend it doing things like that.

freezeframe03 09-08-2010 03:39 AM

hahaha.....just as soon as I have more time on my hands than I know what to do with!

Lacelady 09-08-2010 03:56 AM

Never mind folding the fitted sheet (I already do most of that), I was intrigued by one that said about folding a T shirt the 'Japanese' way.

I had to watch it several times - magical, and I can now do it myself.

finch 09-08-2010 03:59 AM

I saw the t shirt one about 4 years ago. That is a good one also.I hate balled up clothes and linens. It was nice hearing that someone already folded the sheets though.

LoriJ 09-08-2010 04:58 AM

I've always folded my fitted sheets that way. It's the way my Mom taught me eons ago. I thought everyone did it that way... LOL

sewmuchmore 09-08-2010 05:07 AM

Thank you, I love my sheets to be nice, and smooth. Thank you for link,. I am going to give this a try.

MaggieLou 09-08-2010 07:15 AM

This works fine unless your sheets have elastic down the length of the sheet too. I've been using a similar method for years.

Dmart 09-08-2010 07:41 AM

I fold the sheets like this then tie a ribbon to keep the sets together( Martha Stewart LOL). Everyone in my household recently got their own basket in the linen closet and their sheets go in there. I woke up one day and decided to get organized!

puck116 09-08-2010 08:19 AM

We winter in Florida and I only have one set of sheets there. No need to fold because when I wash them they go right back on the bed. I really should adopt this here in Mass. (the one set thing)

ceegee 09-08-2010 08:50 AM

try samurai shirt folding on youtube. a blast!

Genie915 09-08-2010 09:23 AM

This is exactly how I fold my fitted sheets except that I do not fold the very last time. They are flatter and fit better in my cabinet.

Clarefly 09-08-2010 09:47 AM

Thanks so much for sharing this - it was hilarious - and great to see a man who knows his place! LOL

Jeanniejo 09-08-2010 09:52 AM

I wash & dry them and put them right back on the bed!!! No folding.

texasannie 09-08-2010 10:01 AM

Bet he irons them before he folds them too!! LOL NOT!

brookemarie19 09-08-2010 10:38 AM

Very nice video...thanks for the link

jbj137 09-08-2010 11:06 AM

I learned to do this in Home Ec in high school.
My way is even simpler.
I can do it in about 2 seconds now after over
40 years.

lizzy 09-08-2010 12:21 PM

I watched the first part of the tutorial on utube but did not watch the end. There was far too much importance placed on the squareness of the fold. My quilting material gets that much attention but never my sheets. I liked the idea of putting the sets of bedding in one of the pillow cases.(i use king size). That's more my style. More time to sew.

jbj137 09-08-2010 12:30 PM

I roll the top sheet around the
contour sheet & pillow cases.
That works tooo.

davis2se 09-08-2010 01:45 PM

Wow. My wicked step mother knows how to fold fitted sheets so that they look just like they came from the manufacturer. Right now it's not an issue for me. I only have 1 set of sheets for my king size bed. They are 1,200 count thread that I bought from Sam's club 6 years ago. Have used them every day since. Wash them once a week and back on the bed they go. They are SO AWESOME - feels like sleeping on velvet. I will probably have to be committed when they finally wear out!!!

lynsue 09-08-2010 02:44 PM

I learned this on my own. I have 3 sets for beds. My folding isn't quite so neat. I keep my fitted sheets & pillow cases folded within my flat sheets.

daniellern76 09-08-2010 02:53 PM

Great video. I certainly wouldn't want to wash sheets from all 5 beds in 1 day, It would take me forever to fold them!

golfer 09-08-2010 03:21 PM

Good video. I checked out the folding of a t-shirt too. Now I am going to try the sheet and t-shirt.

Sewze 09-08-2010 09:18 PM

I don't know where I learned how to do this folding of the sheets, but it must have been about 40yrs ago. The only difference is that I put the flat one and the pillowcases inside the fitted sheet before the last fold over. That keeps the sets together. I have a set of flannels for Winter and 1200ct (like satin) for Summer. I must confess (these days) that most of the time I take them straight from the dryer and put them back on the bed during each Season.

Sewze 09-08-2010 09:28 PM

Just watched the T-shirt Video......a LOT of pinching going on there. I do a similar method, but, no pinching. Just fold it in half at the armholes and hold it up against your chest and fold into thirds.

Colbaltjars62 09-08-2010 10:02 PM

I have folded them pretty much like that as long as I can remember. But hubby just watched tute here with me and says that they ought to just take out the pockets and add velcro instead. That way no elastic. What do you think?

NannaJen 09-08-2010 11:33 PM

That is how I fold mine, just came to me one day a few years ago, but I am not so fussy squaring up the corners.

Suse 09-08-2010 11:36 PM

Thanks for the link. I tried folding it that way and I was able to fit them into the closet better. 8-)
