Love Sew Wool Pressing Mat

Hi everyone! Have any of you ordered from this company, Love Sew? They are offering wool pressing mats at a really good price but I haven't been able to find out anything about the company. Thanks!

Onebyone 12-06-2019 04:51 AM

Do you have a link to the site? All I can find is Love to Sew.

Sailorwoman 12-06-2019 06:33 AM

Here is the link: https://love-sew.com/ . I looked at those but I wanted a larger size. I finally ordered from Precision Quilting Tools and am very happy with it.

wishfulthinking 12-06-2019 08:54 AM

The advertisement/link popped up on my facebook feed this morning. The mat size and price suited me perfectly but there is something about the website that made me wonder. Couldn't find anything about where they're located or any reviews beside what they have on their site.

My radar would be up as well with this company after viewing their website. They are not US based, I can tell you that for sure. There is an icon for selecting different types of currency in the upper right corner and one of their links had a URL that ended - US. Another concern is the very limited product selection. I would pass on any purchases with them. I may be wrong but why take a chance. Trust your gut.

If you want a wool pressing mat just go to your local army/navy surplus and get a wool blanket and line your ironing board with it. That is what I did (only mine came from the thrift store $2). It works great.

nativetexan 12-06-2019 09:47 AM

I was wondering about that site too. anybody know where else one can get a good one for a good price? I am now thinking of getting one.

Onebyone 12-06-2019 11:05 AM

I've noticed lots cheap quilting notions being advertised online by legit sounding quilting shop names. All are based on the Wish.com type of items. Cheap knock offs of the quality brands.

I agree, trust your gut is good advice.
That being said, this particular site - Love Sew has Portland Oregon contact info.

There are lots of US web sites these days that have multiple currencies available. Many are multi national.
Brother is just one example....you have to choose where in the world you are to use their site.
My local quilt shop has very few products available for sale on their web site and

And not being a US based company is not necessarily a bad thing in itself. I buy from several Canadian and UK web sites.
And one of my fave overseas web sites sells authentic German bread. Yum!

just sayin

still....I don't know anything about Love Sew.......

wishfulthinking 12-07-2019 03:48 AM

Have decided to pass. Thanks for the input everyone!

A contact listed as in the US doesn't mean much.

I ordered my wool mat from Amazon.com, and I am very satisfied with it.

Cottage Dee 12-08-2019 04:52 AM

Google that address...

misseva 12-08-2019 06:29 AM

I ordered that wool pressing mat from Love-Sew dot com and according to my tracking number has now left Trenton NJ headed to me. Shipment originated in China. I ordered thru PayPal.

fayzer 12-08-2019 01:04 PM

I ordered mine on Amazon. It is New Zeland wool!

quiltmaker52 12-08-2019 03:20 PM

I got mine on Amazon.

Yes I ordered the pens, when they work they are great, but mine took forever to get here, they are based in China, with a Shop address set up in Portland, OR. Half or more like 75 percent of the pens don’t work!

I ordered from Love Sew and received my wool pressing map as promised. It was on sale for half price. Don’t think you need to worry about ordering from them.

auntlucy 04-20-2020 07:34 PM

Correction: “Wool mat”

sewingsuz 04-20-2020 09:23 PM

This place says it is in Kentucky

auntlucy 04-21-2020 05:22 AM

I ordered from them. Got my pressing mat for half price in a reasonable amount of time.

P-BurgKay 04-21-2020 05:38 AM

I got my wool mat from Quilt in a Day when they were on sale. A really good deal.

Looking on Googlemaps its an industrial estate for 'logistics' companies. That is importers of goods probably mostly from China. So other person was correct cheap imported knock-offs. I was going to buy but think I'll also pass. UK
so can't get these mats anywhere for reasonable price, sadly.

quiltingharrison 04-25-2020 01:43 PM

What is the quality like would you say?

Love-Sew

I ordered the 100% wool mat from Love-Sew website. I happy with it and the price too but it took forever for it to come. About 5 weeks. I also ordered the marking pens which I have not tried yet to see if they mark and you can use your iron to remove the markings. I plan on using a scrap piece of fabric first and wash it afterwards too. You also get an email telling you the order is on its way but due to the COVID - 19 virus shipping companies are understaffed. That has a Kentucky address on it. And it came about after I placed the order. So I believe its not shipping from the US even though it has an address to make you think otherwise.

Did a Google Map on their address - it's a Prime Logistics trucking warehouse with lots of foreign shipping containers in the "parking lot", so it's likely knock-off stuff. There's definitely not a regular sewing business behind it.

PeggyButts 05-08-2020 12:50 AM

I ordered one a while ago and really like it. I got it when it was the larger size. If I am not mistaken, they are in the UK.

Pressing Mat

I ordered my mat from them also. It took about 5 weeks to receive. That is really my only problem with the company. The mat is a good size and the quality seems nice.

mojo11 05-09-2020 03:59 AM

I ordered a wool mat from them. Shipping was a little slow because of this virus. I'm under the impression they are located in California. I really don 't know for sure. I e-mailed them when I thought I should have it. They answered right back. They offered to refund my money if I didn't get it that week. I got my mat that week. It is a very nice mat. I just ordered the lights to stick on my sewing machine. Up front they told me it would be at least 3 weeks. I used Paypal. I'm pleased with them. Just my opinion. Maureen

I have ordered 3 different sizes of wool pressing mats from this company, and I love all three of them. Delivery is a little slower than if you order from Amazon, but the mats are good quality. I am sold on mine.

no1jan 05-10-2020 01:53 AM

I bought my wool pressing mat from Amazon for around $50.00. I used the Amazon Prime and had it in 2 days.

I love it.

I use it on top of a cheap plastic table I bought from Job Lot. ($22.00) The table is similar to the 6 ft plastic party tables. I have no problem with it melting the table. I have a very good iron that has a high steam. It is similar to Rowenta. I just place my table and next to my sewing table and place my iron in a metal broiler pan for a toaster oven. It is great to iron seams of your blocks right after you sew.

Have you tried "Wish"? They have some good prices and you do get the product. I haven't ordered a pressing mat from them as I have a couple that I got on sale. But, I have ordered other things and the things have been as advertised. They are out of China I think as it does take a couple weeks to get things.

Yes I did and it is going on 7 weeks and no items. . Then when I email them they keep increasing the shipping time. And they sign Cheers which is over seas. The problem I have is they do not outline this on their website, they hid it and I should have picked up on it. They were not honest about it shipping from afar and that is not a company you want to do business with.

I tried to purchase

I purchased a wool mat in May 1 2020. I have yet to receive my product. If you email them you get a automated email back.

connieind 06-21-2020 06:19 AM

Disatisfied Love Sew customer

I ordered a woolen mat from Love Sew on April 28. According to the confirmation e-mail I was supposed to receive my item within 3 weeks. When, at 4 weeks I had still not received it, I contacted the company via e-mail. Their response was that there was a problem with their contracted shipper in CA and that I should receive it by June 5th. No item. Again I inquired and was promised it by June 20th. No Item. Again I inquired and was told on or before June 30th. No item. In the first inquiry response I was informed that if it did not arrive within 60 days of order, I could receive a full refund or reshipment. Well, according to their website the time is sold out. Today I wrote to them and demanded my money back. I'm not expecting it to be speedy. I will never do business with this company again. I rate them 0 out of 5 stars.

quiltingcandy 06-30-2020 10:52 PM

I was in Joann's today - if you have noticed cotton fabric everywhere is at a minimum. She said they were decimated by all the people buying fabric to make masks. Not just fabric but all sorts of notions, sewing machines, and the elastic were sold out. But most of all these items come out of China - they have problems with the virus too so production is down. And then when it does get here, they are having trouble getting it off the boats and out of customs. She said they are lucky to get 25-50% of their shipments. So we may not have a lot to choose from for a while.

Update on my Love Sew dilemma

Believe it or not, on July 1 they tried to bargain with me saying that the mat was still with the shipping company and I could either: a) receive a refund for now and then when it arrived I could pay or b) they will send another at no extra charge. I opted for the refund. No refund yet. On July 6th I received an e-mail that they had an update from their shipper (Pitney Bowes) that I would receive the mat on July 13th and provided a link. I followed the link to Pitney Bowes that shows that they received my item at 6:27 p.m on July 6th and provided a link to USPS tracking. USPS site shows they were notified of the shipment on July 6. I opted into the USPS text tracking. As requested I responded to their verification text and was sent another text saying that the tracking number is invalid. Today I filed a complaint with the attorney general's office and my bank is following up to dispute the charge with Love Sew.

Have not ordered from them and never will. The website was put up this year so no long term business. Their "About Us" is a bunch of fluff. Their so called catalogue has about 15 to 20 items, all over priced, including the wool mats. All of their items in their "catalogue" are what we call "canned" photos.....pictures from other retailers or internet sites. Not photos taken by them of their products. Photos of their business are a bunch of tattooed young people standing around a computer. If you search their site for items, they don't have them...I typed in Clover, nothing....I typed in Nancy Zieman, nothing (they have a few of her products listed in their catalogue page)......I would not make a purchase on this site. It looks similar to sites owned and operated by some Chinese companies. I made the mistake of purchasing from one of them through Amazon. BIG MISTAKE. They are a fraudulent retailer who steals UPS tracking numbers and shows delivery of the item to Amazon and you receive nothing. I submitted a complaint with Amazon. Amazon wasn't happy about my posting on this company...but they did finally refund my money.....they still had their listing on Amazon for a long time after my experience. We all have to be diligent about who we give our credit card numbers to. Best wishes.....search on Quilt in a day, Amazon etc for your wool mats.
