Martelli Mats

Martelli Mats are my favorite mats. So hard to describe, they are much thicker (and therefore heavier, if that is a concern) and feel almost softer when cutting. They can be rolled, left in the car without warping, and don't crack if dropped. DH dropped my Olfa when it had been in the car and was cold, it cracked in half.

They are two-sided, one side purple, one side soft yellow. You can also iron on them, as long as there is fabric between the mat and the iron (ie, don't go past the edge of the fabric you are ironing if you don't have another, larger piece under).

Tues. and Weds. only, they are on sale for 1/2 off. Still not inexpensive, but a better deal for sure.

Great prices, however I don't need one. I have their cutters and love those. Wish I could justify buying one.

Thanks for the heads up on the sale. I have a lot of aggravation because of the teal color of the Olfa mat when cutting similar or dark colored fabrics. Wish I hadn't already overspent this month.

I don’t have their flat mats but I do have their roundabout mat. I caught them on sale a couple of years ago and got one for myself and my sister. Well worth the money! I had one of the rotating olfa mats and it just never turned correctly.

I've been wanting to get the roundabout for awhile. Maybe now is the time.

Love my Martelli matt and find my blades last way longer as the cutting surface is softer. Been using mine for at least 12 years and it still works great (I cut almost every day).

Their blades are also on sale.

Thanks for sharing about the sale. :)

I have the roundabout mat and use the Martelli rotary cutter on it as suggested. The top of it is all scratched up and rough. I love the way it turns, but the mat is awful. I lay a small green Olfa mat on top of it.
Has anyone else's mat scratched up?

I purchased the roundabout mat through Amazon. I did not get around to using it due to the holidays and so on. The first time, the mat was scratched up already. Unfortunately, I was not familiar with Amazon's return policy until it was too late. I did post a review of the product and asked about getting it replaced. I will try again, though. Or I may get one of my extra mats trimmed to fit the turntable.
