I've been playing with this method for a couple days now. I love the way it works, but I just can't make it turn out to the exact size I want. My "height" stays the same no matter what size I cut the small squares. That must be because the large square doesn't change size. I need 5 geese pieces to measure 3x8 finished (3.5x8.5 unfinished). With a 4 1/4" large square, I can only get the 5 geese to equal 3.5x8 unfinished. I'm resigned to just adding a strip of the background to make it the right size, unless someone can help! :)

I love this way.I have used the one where you place 4 squares on the corners and sew dia.across each square and cut off the excess on the back. this is so cool no wate. Love it Craftybear. Thanks alot. Mary

Thank you for the Flying Geese No Waste Method!!!! I love it! I hate to waste those little triangles that are usually cut off. No more! Can't wait to use it!
