Pet beds for shelters

I like the design of this pattern. It helps reduce the clumping of scraps.

what a great idea. Thanks for posting, I've been wanting to make doggie beds for some furry friends of mine.

That's a good idea. I bet the puppies like it better to ... no scraps bunching up in one area leaving no scraps in other areas. Thanks for the link.

Does the outer fabric have to be home dec or just not cotton?

I made a dog bed out of old denim pieces and it wore like iron.

What a great way to make pet beds, am going to try this for the 4 poms that are part of our family!

Gtreat use for threads etc. Can these be washed?

Only if the individual parts are washable. If you use a heavy decorator fabric that says dry clean only, I wouldn't wash.

I am a long arm quilter and am continually throwing scraps of batting away! I am going to start saving them now to make these beds for shelter animals. Thanks for sharing!
