I found a web page about how to make your pot holders from left over squares in minutes!

Wow - really fast!

Thanks for sharing! That is so cool! My daughter made a small version with just regular batting, for stemmed glassware coasters for a 4-H project when she was in 5th grade. You just slip the bottom of the glassware inside.

Thanks so much for posting this!

deanna_1 08-17-2010 03:15 PM

That is a great idea with stem glassware!!

Jim's Gem 08-17-2010 03:15 PM

I have seen that same method used to make coasters as well, obviously using smaller pieces of fabric and batting.

DoxieMom 08-17-2010 03:23 PM

Very clever and fast! Thanks for posting it!

Thanks That was fast!!! :XD:

Yep, first thing I thought of was over sized coasters. But I make my coasters round now so I don't fret with the corners. Hmm, could do the same for the pot holder. Needs a tab too! And I wish I could turn myself on to fast forward like she did. LOL.. But it took her eight minutes to make so no matter what it was fast for sure!

Thanks for the idea and link!

I have made the smaller version for coasters and given them away as christmas gifts. You can make them so one side is a different holliday than the other side.

Hello, I made some of these neat potholders awhile ago. They make nice gifts, and are so quick, besides being able to use up fabric on hand. I posted some pictures back in Nov. 23, 09. I think you can find them under my posts, if you would like to see them... Marcine :)

it looks so easy! does she just use ordinary batting?

denveremerson 08-19-2010 08:10 AM

Perhaps there is some kind of block on my computer. All I get with this link is the title, but nowhere to click to get the directions.

Copy the whole link and put it into your Address bar at the top of the page, and hit Enter and it should take you to the page.

Thanks toomuchFabric. It was the computer I was on. It wouldn't load the video. Now I've got it on my home computer. Thanks for taking the time to try to help me!!

This is going to the top of my Christmas list - thanks for sharing

One question.....what size seam does she use?

Appreciate your help

Judy

deanna_1 08-19-2010 04:34 PM

When I made it, I used 3/8 seam which is pretty close to the edge.
