Quilt Books/Patterns at "Restore" (Habitat for Humanity store)
 

My local Restore (Nashua, NH) had a pile of quilt books and patterns ($1 for 4 paperbacks/patterns and $1 for 3 hardbacks) this past weekend. All were in pristine condition and patterns were unused. Didn't buy them as I already owned all the titles (2 Eleanor Burns Quilt in a Day series and one Carol Doak among them) and didn't like the patterns. Just a heads up for folks who have these stores in their area to check the book shelves as you never know what you'll find. (Note: money goes to buying construction materials to help build more Habitat for Humanity houses).

I've never checked the book section, but i love the ReStore. I got my favorite machine there for $35...1975Kenmore. And i got a drop in sewing machine cabinet on another trip.

Lucky you. I frequent our ReStore but haven't yet found anything related to quilting/sewing. Mostly house fixtures. I won't give up though

Forgot...they also had 3 sewing machines. A Singer 301, a Singer (?) and an older Kenmore. All under $40 each. I passed up on them as I have 5 machines at present and no place to store them.

I got a terrific old fashioned iron for about $2 when we went to look for something else. I don't get to go that often as it is too far a drive just to check out what they've got in. . . . but I love to support them whenever I can.

I donated a lot of tools and what not when I moved 4 months ago. Never have been in one but I knew it was associated with Habitat for Humanity.

Don't have one very close here. They have built many homes not far from here.

Thank you for the information. I have been wanting to go to the store since I found out about it this late fall. On a good travel day I will take a ride to check it out.

I have bought a lot of books and quilting magazines from the ReStore...They are very cheap and usually and in good condition. They have a lot of stuff there. Just need to hit the right time.
