This stuff is terrific!!!!

One thing I have had problems with is my hands and fingers drying out from working with all the fabric and hand quilting. Well, there is a new product that has just been advertised "Vaseline Spray & Go". I bought it on Saturday morning and every time I washed my hands over the weekend, I just sprayed a little on each hand and rubbed it in...no residue, can work with the quilt right away and it is WONDERFUL...I can't believe how much better my poor hands look this morning. Smooth, finger tips getting softer and I love it....just wanted to share.

Just saw a commercial about this product. Good to know it lives up to it's promises. Thanks for sharing.

alleyoop1 03-18-2013 04:29 AM

Thanks for the heads up! I'll definitely give it a try.

zennia 03-18-2013 05:22 AM

Thank You. I have the same problem with my hands. Glad to hear about something that works. Will keep a look out for it.

DianneK 03-18-2013 07:29 AM

Wonder if it will work on my poor, cracked heels..hate shoes!!!

lots2do 03-18-2013 05:14 PM

I'll have to look for it.

barny 03-18-2013 05:53 PM

Me too on the hands and feet. I walk around all year, cold or hot barefoot. I'm gonna hunt for it this week. Thanks for the info.

Nanny's dollface 03-18-2013 06:00 PM

Thanks for sharing this info. I thought it was me that seemed to have drier hands when I quilt.

Granchris 03-18-2013 10:35 PM

Try Working Hands it is the best. After 25 years of Chicago cold weather I got so I never went without this product.

or my poor sore left elbow -its so dry and cracked it snags my sweatshirts. I have to go to the dreaded Wally store later so I will try it.

good to know ... will give it a try

Another good method for chapped hands--apply generous amount of vasolene to hands and put on your white gloves when you go to bed. Hands will heal overnight!

Try corn huskers lotion. It is inexpensive, works great, is kind of slimy when it goes on but it dries and it works great on cracked hands and feet. My Dad was a dairy farmer and used this for his cracked hands and it worked so I keep some in my house now for when winter does its duty to crack around my finger tips.

I knew you from Missouri as soon as I read "Wally store" LOL...we call it Wally world. Do they do this in any other state? QuiltHaven thank you for the info. There will be a sudden increase in sales now.

Two other things that work and won't stain the fabric are Udder Cream and Bag Balm.

chips88 03-19-2013 01:06 PM

yes wally world is a world wide saying.. i guess. i will have to try that..:)

Scakes 03-19-2013 01:25 PM

Thanks for sharing. I saw it advertised on tv today - first time I'd ever heard of it. I'm going to get some of it next time I go shopping.

meanmom 03-19-2013 02:28 PM

I have never heard of this. I work in a multiple disability classroom. We wash our hands constantly and practically bathe in hand sanitizer. In the winter we always have at least 2 kids with snotty noses. My hands crack and bleed. I will have to look for some.

nativetexan 03-19-2013 04:16 PM

where did you purchase it from? I've not seen ads here.

nstitches4u 03-19-2013 09:36 PM

Thanks for the info. I'll give it a try. My hands are so dry and my fingers are cracked. I hate winter!

jkwynn 03-19-2013 09:52 PM

Oooh, that's good to hear!! I'm getting this product in the mail in a few days in a sampler program I am a part of, and now I'm excited to try it. I need something for my dry legs and it seems like the spray will be so convenient! How does it smell?

(Also - I wholeheartedly second the recommendation for the Working Hands product. My husband is an airplane mechanic and his fingers got so cracked and painful this winter, he could barely hold his fork to eat. I heard about this stuff, looked it up, found it at Ace Hardware in the paint section, and it was amazing for his hands/fingers!) You can read the reviews on amazon, too. Here to, plus another name I won't mention on the board- not vulgar, just tacky, but this is truly our only place to shop in my town, one groc. store and one dept. store, so we are held captive. Plus they took the fab. dept. out when they remodeled about 3 yrs ago, so we must drive 85 miles or more to purchase fab. Oh well such is life in this modern age we live in.

jbj137 03-20-2013 05:58 AM

Will have to try it.

QuiltingHaven 03-20-2013 08:43 AM

I got it at our Meijers store but I bet Walmart has it.

QandE2010 03-20-2013 05:40 PM

I love wool wax creme. My DDIL, who lives in Norway, says that is the only thing that works on her hands. They used to crack & bleed, especially in the winter. But after discovering this about 5 years ago, they no longer do that. I get mine through Amazon.

jcrow 03-20-2013 06:15 PM

Did you know that if you put a hot moist wash rag on your dry areas first, before you apply vaseline or cream, the moisture will make your dry spots more moist. I always apply a hot moist rag to my face before I apply cream and I apply the hot moist rag to my hands before I put vaseline on them and white cotton gloves at bedtime. You need the moisture on your skin before you apply anything. It works much better. Try it.

snipforfun 03-20-2013 07:01 PM

Got some. Overrated and watery.

SandyinZ4 03-20-2013 07:19 PM

Thanks for the tip. I have hand lotion in every room of the house almost and always have to wait a while for it to soak in before I can play with fabric. The joys of living in a drier climate.

deedum 03-20-2013 07:46 PM

I use Kerodex for wet work. They have some for dry also. Target will order or just order directly from Amazon. about $6.00 for a large tube. Works great, even my dh uses it.

champagnebubbles 03-21-2013 09:29 PM

I bought it at Target.

mjhaess 03-23-2013 12:33 PM

That is great ..Thanks....

Traditional 03-23-2013 04:41 PM
