They sound good to me. I am working a charity quilt right now and it's coming along. It has embroidery blocks that no one else wanted to quilt, so I am doing it today. It is definitely goes with her last point that quilts are for cuddling and I hope this quilt gets a lot of cuddling with the angels (embroidered angel blocks).

My best advise for enjoying the quilting process would be...."it is only just fabric, there is always more fabric." For those of us who hesitate cutting into a bit of yardage because we might ruin it....cut away, you can always recycle it to the scrap bin. NO FEAR QUILTING!
