I had heard of this method being used to sharpen scissors before but forgot all about trying it. Thanks for reminding me and letting me know that it really does work and I can use it with my rotary cutters too.

What a great idea. I have only ever got as far as turning the blade the other way round in the holder. That gives a bit more life to the blade.

I am going to try your hint this morning on my 60mm blade. Thanks for the hint. I have done this with scissors but it never occured to me to try it with a rotary cutter.

I had heard of this in another thread on the board earlier this year. Glad to hear it works.

Thanks for sharing. I've also heard cutting foil will sharpen dull scissors. Haven't tried it yet so don't know for sure if it actually works.

I have done this numerous times and it works for a little bit. Seems to give me a couple more days out of a blade. More times than not it's my mat that's the problem. Once it gets grooves it stops cutting very well. It does make a mess though!

I know what you mean. Have you ever bitten into a piece of tin foil? Thanks for this tip EvelynAnita, I'm going to try this.
