Thanks for posting this! It is wonderful to see that WalMart recognizes that alot of consumers do care where there products are manufactured. They have launched a 10 year plan and 250 BILLION dollars to bring manufacturing jobs to America. As a kid, I went with my DGM over to the "Blouse factory" - it was actually a Judy Bond factory- anyone remember those blouses? I digress... when we went over to blouse factory, she would get a bag of the leftover fabric that the blouses were cut from. And guess what she did with that fabric... Went straight into quilts, of course!

Has anyone used the Pellon batting in the advertisement, and how did you like it?

PS: I think I just saw some fabric advertised as being made in the US from cotton grown in the US. Cannot remember where that was advertised now.[/QUOTE]

Tough to buy US made items when it seems like not so much is made here anymore. Good that Pellon is on board and hopefully a lot more companies will follow.

The fabric is from Clothworks under the American Made Brand name. I have seen several quilt stores advertising that they carry it. It's shown here: http://www.clothworks.com/index.php/...ade-brand.html. They are all solids, but I would like to check them out and compare them to Kona and Moda.

Why ban one store for doing what most stores are doing.....now we need to support the effort!....and encourage other businesses to do the same....where do you think most fabric is now mfgrs.....not to mention printing of books, mags....produce..check the little stickers.....list goes on......

http://www.fabrictraditions.com/?page_id=7

According to this web page this is sold at Jo ann's, Wal Mart and other places. I got the one with large peach and blue flowers today at JA at 30% off so $6.29 a yard and feels nice. Have a 1 yard peice of the dark blue with blue and pink flowers up at top of ad. Next time I have time at WM will have to check out for this fabric and other made in America stuff there. So good to see American made again.
