Default Winner traditional applique

The Quilt Show has a picture on its web site of the Houston Internat'l QS winner in traditional applique. The quilt is, obviously, breath taking beautiful. However it is unusual in that it is appliqued flowers and the full blooms are small Dresden plates and the buds are partial Dresden plates. It is definitely worth taking a look.

If some of you attended the show and took pictures, please post them for those of us who could not attend. Thank you.

Your link goes directly to a pieced quilt with no dresdens.... do you know the name of the quilt you're talking about?

"Flowers in My Heart by Noriko Kido of Azumino, Nagano, Japan
First Place Traditional Appliqué - Sponsored by Quilters Newsletter

When I click on the link it opens on the right place. Did you zoom in on the quilt so that it enlarges enough so that you can see the flowers are actually very small Dresden plates? I don't know why it didn't work for you.

That was weird - the first time I clicked on your link, it took me to a pieced quilt that had lots of striped fabric in it. I closed that window and clicked the link again, and it took me to the same quilt with stripes. I wonder if the link was cached in my browser or something.

I DID see the quilt you're talking about when I was in Houston - the element of that quilt that absolutely amazed me? Those absolutely perfect yellow circles. They are so perfectly round and poofy, they look like buttons!
