I am waiting for the book to come in the mail. I made the block with some 5" squares and it is really easy. I sent for more of the same material so I can make a big quilt.

I demoed this block today to my sit and sew group of quilters. I had wondered about using smaller size blocks. Was concerned that the smaller size would make it a lot more difficul to position and sew the third seam! Does it????

There's a thread going on about this. Isn't it a wonderful block? And you can make it in all sizes.

Yes, it is a double layer, created by the way you lay it out and then sew it together. It basically 3 seams.
