Hi Xragrl .There should be a nudge adjustment tool , where you can move the file around the grid ,select the grid. should be a tool box below, this usually four arrows pointing up-down and across left to right and other tools for rotation, adding fonts ect ,make the adjustment and press OK that's how my Janome works .

On Berninas, you use the machines multi-function knobs to nudge the machine head to be at the center of the design. How you do it differs from Brand to Brand of machine. I am just switching from viking to Bernina for embroidery and yeppers a learning curve. I have successfully now done a couple of embroidery designs using the Bernina. Yee Pee!
