I don’t know where else to post this so I hope you will bear with me. I have a Brother VE2200 embroidery machine which I really don’t use a lot so I am not as familiar with it as I should be. I am trying to add a basting outline to a design. I can follow the manual up to the point where it tells me to select the basting stitch icon - but there is no icon on the screen to select. I hope this makes sense for someone! Any help is appreciated.

Can you post a screen shot of your machine?
Is there an "edit" button on the screen? Select it a second time. The icon may appear. It is almost as if you have to edit the edit.
Do you have a preferences page on the machine? Check through the settings to see if there is a "distance" around the design that you need to set.

PS: the box may be a pink flower with a stitch around it. It may not be in color though.
It may also be an upgrade for the machine. Do you have a local dealer to ask about the button?

Check this video. I can't see the page number but it looks like you should have the button.

Thanks, Rhonda! I had the machine in embroidery mode and it needed to be in edit mode for the baste icon to show up. I didn’t realize that just adding a basting stitch outline is considered editing the design I really do need to become more familiar with my machine. Thanks again and standby for more questions! Color me embarrassed.
