Love the library too! Our Guild also has a very nice lending library - books, dvd's, magazines.

I work right next door to the library, and they will shoot me an email when the book comes in. I do this all the time, and love it! When the guild has a speaker coming, I check out all the books I can they have written, so I know what is coming, it really gets me hyped about the meeting!

Also, request that your library order the books you want for their collection. I know the one that I work at, uses the requests to help purchase titles that people are interested in. I know we have a lot of Jennifer Chiaverini (Elm Creek Quilts) books, and she is actually coming in November.

I know a lot of times, the lady that is in charge of adult non-fiction at our branch, will ask me about quilting books that I would like to see in our library system.

I'm a huge supporter of the library, once having volunteered for nearly 13yrs for the Friends Library Bookstore, and managed it maybe 4 ... it has been awhile, having since moved.

I'm always checking out quilt related books, and then if it is something I really have to have, I have a wait list at paperbackswap.com. The challenge there is getting quilting books, they are so in demand. But if you list them, you almost always get immediate requests to ship. If I absolutely cannot wait, then I go to Amazon.

I'll have to see what the policy is at my local library on the interlibrary loan program. Where do they come from? I'm already able to get books from other libraries within a 2 county area.

If your local Public Library has Quilt books with the disks, check those books out and you can download them onto your computer for future reference.
