    Default **Flannel and cotton together?

    Hi Fellow Quilters,
Was wondering if any of you had used flannel and cotton together on the
front side of a baby quilt, and if so, did it turn out okay once it was washed?
Just wondering if the fabrics would shrink too differently if they were pre-washed.
    Thanks.

If both fabrics were pre washed, they should be fine. Might want to wash the flannel a couple times as some flannels continue to shrink. Not sure if your last sentence was supposed to be "if they were NOT pre-washed"

I used cotton flannel and non-flannel cotton in the same quilt just recently with no problems. http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...s-t248015.html
Both were pre-washed. I agree with PaperPrincess that flannel should be prewashed. I wash it in hot water and watch for bleeding.

I am going to prewash both fabrics, but I just wasn't sure if shrinkage afterward the quilt was made would be a problem.
Thank both of you for your help.

I agree pre-wash both and the flannel at least twice.

I have not done it myself, but have seen a couple of really cute quilts with both flannel and regular cotton pieced together on a Baby quilt.
