Beautiful quilt. Another internal quilt police action here -. I hardly worry about 1/4" in an exterior sashing. Like you said it can be fudged or just left alone. The only one that will know about that little 1/4" will be you. Your quilt is beautiful I love the muted colors against the lively butterflies!

This is a delightful quilt, Rhonda! I'm glad you were able to fix your problem. It's always so satisfying when things work out the way they should, isn't it?

I love the soft colors of your fabric and the pattern is so awesome. It is a beautiful work of art.

Oh, that is looking like a stunning quilt-to-be. Yes, ripping is as much part of my work as sewing some days.

Thank you Everyone!

I wasn't that bothered by the 1/4 inch until I found that weak seam which lead to the "fixing". Honestly, Just happy to get the white vertical sashing to line up block-to-block. They wanted to give me fits.

The four borders (pink and green hydrangea fabric) are on the quilt. The backing fabric is washed and just needs a final press and then seamed. It should go to the quilter next week. I'll post pics when it done.

My last quilt finished perfectly as far as the width went....but the length was a whole two inches longer! It was even on both sides so I left it, I just had to work one more square into the final borders.

Next quilt I will use my quarter inch foot instead of trying to adjust the needle position. I realized halfway through the setting I was using for my scant quarter inch was just slightly different each time I turned the machine on.

I am amazed you were able to find and correct that difference, even on a finished top!

first I have to say...I am not a show quilter....I like making quilts that the dog can lay, a person can pick up and throw in the waser and dryer, and wrap up in. I also am quilting because it is fun! It used to bother me that things did not always turn out perfect. Now in my old age, I tell people that they can chose to look at the perfect points or the not so perfect ones, it is just like my yard, you can chose to look at the "weeds" or the bright dandilions bringing in the summer....I have to say...I have gradually improved over time...now about 80% of my points are good....and I seldom have any that are more then a 1/4 of an inch flat....tee hee....one of the older teachers used to say that there where pointless stitchers and stitchers who had points...neither were bad....they just were and good make fine quilts...no matter what....
