Hi, Anne here. I purchased a Singer treadle in abt 1970. Forgot the year it was manufactured, if I ever knew it. Just went to the Singer site and found it was made in 1925, I think S.# AA 752972. Used to be in excellent shape, have used the treadle option only, but it was also adapted to elec. as there is a motor attached. I disengaged it to use the treadle. Have a box full of attachments. Would love to have a manual, but none available. Just would like to know what the attach. are and how to use them. Has been sitting so long that it needs lots of cleaning and loving care. Need to know where to oil it, etc. Question, does anyone know where or how to find the manual?

If you can post pictures here, I'm sure we can identify it from those. There are free and low-cost downloadable manuals on the internet, but my favorite manuals are the ones by Relics - Linda scans hers at high resolution and binds them with clear vinyl covers and spiral spines so that they lie flat while you're working with them. :)

sori, but I don't know how to post pics yet. Do I search for "relic" on the board or the net. As you see I am really new to the board, to computers, and quilting. Am trying. thanks.

post a pic of your machine so we can identify the model, then you can find the manual. You need to know the model to get the manual. The serial number won't ID the manual.

I think the search feature is linked to model #, instead of serial number. If the machine is a model 66... here's the link
    http://www.singerco.com/uploads/download/41_66.pdf

if not a model 66, here is the link to peruse thru all the other available model # manuals

    http://www.singerco.com/accessories/...manuals/search

or, if you find out which model, here's a link on singer to input the specific model # and it will bring up the available manuals:

    http://www.singerco.com/accessories/instruction-manuals

    Hope this helps.

When you hit "Reply" at the last post, you get a window to type in, then at the bottom it says attachment...there is a tutorial in the Pictures category of how to post pictures. Go read that first.

Hi Anne! I have a Singer treadle, sn#AA611881, also made in 1925. Mine is a 127, so I'm thinking yours probably is, too. I sent an email to Singer to find out. Here's a site with a manual:
    http://sewing.about.com/gi/dynamic/o....htm?site=http://www.ismacs.net/singer/singerdates.html
Mine has the Sphynx decals. How about yours?

thanks to all of you for the info. am going to look at all of these sites and see what I can find. KountryKreations, I do not see a model #. Also (red face) it was not a motor, but an added light for sewing. I guess I need to spend some time on this beauty, and then maybe I'll be able to ask an intelligent question. Will be back when I know what I am talking about.
