Default 4-Patches need a mission.

In cleaning out my sewing room, I found a baggie containing 133 4-patches (3.5" unfinished). Apparently I was in a swap as I recognize several of my fabrics among them. If they were yours, would you alternate them with the same solid color squares throughout (resulting in 66X72"), set them on point, alternate with HSTs or something else? I tend to prefer simple patterns. Thx for ideas!

If you want simple how about a nine patch? Or maybe an Irish Chain? I love simple patterns too.

Some quilters use the 4 patch in the center of some stars.

Here is an example of 4patch with HSTs.

You did not mention if your 4Ps are light/dark or all patterned, so here are two ideas I really like. Not sure if I saw these quilts here or on Pinterest.

This one on my to do list for some 4-patch leader/enders.

Also on my list is this one, though you would have to make up some 2 patches:

I am just sewing my 4" unfinished blocks together for a charity quilt. I may have enough for two quilts. About as simple as I can think of.

Either alternate with a single block in one fabric ( to unify & give eye a rest), or use 1.5" strips of solid to create 1" sashings.

Jan and JJ, you showed some fantastic and new uses of 4 patches. I’m really impressed.
