How many 5" charms would it take to make a full size bed? Thanks in advance. Monie

Sorry that I can't be of any help to you. I'm curious as to what others say.

It depends on how deep your mattress is, and how much over hang you would like, and if you want the quilt to go up and over your pillows :D

It may be helpful if you measure out the size you want it to finish at, and then we can help you better :D:D:D

A full size quilt would be approximately 86 x 86 with a 16 inch drop on the sides. Since a charm is 4 1/2 finished you would need about 365. You would have 19 rows with 19 in each row. That would be a about 10 charm packs if they have 40 in each one.

405 pieces for a 90"x108" quilt or if 40 in each pack then
    11 packs of 40 charms.

That is if cut charms are 5"

But consider the costs as charm packs are more expensive than equivalent yardage.

So would be less expensive to buy 1/4 cuts (9"xWOF)

goodness. 5 inch charms. 104x104 bed quilt would take over 400 of them. 21 across and 21 down=441.

    Somewhere I had found this:

    Using 5" charm packs --

    42x50 crib/lap - 120 squares
    69x90 twin - 320
    84x90 full - 380
    90x96 queen - 440
    104x96 king 528

And then you'd have the border adding to it.

I made a nice lap size or some may consider it a twin size using 238 5" charms (17 rows with 14 in each row)
