Default 5d software

I have a viking platinum 775 I use for just sewing and small quilting projects. I bought a Janome 350e embroidery only in November. I was told I HAD to have 5d software to get designs to the machine. I'm ready to pull my hair out. I cannot get designs to the USB stick from software or when I put a design cd in my computer, I can't get them on a stick either. I am not dumb when it comes to a computer but this is insane.....HELP!!!!

Save your design in 5D, open your stick and drag the design over.

Do you have to use the EMB5 file?
http://www.needlework.ru/page/janome350e.html

I converted files for a lady who bought the Bernette version of the Janome. She must have had 30 Brother cards and wanted her designs. Since she paid for them once, why do it again?

You do have to use the emb5 file. Then the my design file comes up & that's the file you actually use to embroider from.

You don't have to have 5D. Do you have the 5D organizer software that comes with emb machines that Viking makes. It will allow you to see designs, add jump stitches, its a great thread manager etc. If you go to mrpatience.com he has great tutorials on 4D and 5D which both organizers are the same. You can do a save as, when you down load the designs and chose the USB stick. I've been told that if you aren't using a Viking USB then it should be a PNY usb but all of mine work in it. I keep my silver Viking usb stored away incase I ever trade it in. Do you have any dealers close to you. If you lived my way I'd love to help. You won't be able to view the design unless you have some type of software that is why you should check to see if you can get the organizer. It might even take a call or email to the software part of Viking. they've helped me in the past.

You can use almost any viewer. VIP has one, Brother has one, Babylock has one. Wilcom Trusizer does it.
Pfaff tried to get me to buy 5D. I'm happier with Designers Gallery and Masterworks from Babylock. It works with all machines and most formats except ART.

Really, is all i can say, I didn't buy any special software to get my designs to my machine...I own a Janome 350E. Hum not sure why so many dealers try to sell more than what is needed to use these machines.
