I just turned 70 and have been quilting about 3 years, but have been sewing since I was 5.

I will be 46 in September. However, I have a very sweet older friend that has been quilting since she was 7...she is now 81 and has decided to retire from quilting. She is giving me ALL of her stash and notions including thread and batting and many other things. I feel very priveledged to be receiving such a wonderful gift from a wonderful lady!

I turned 64 in March of this year. Have always sewed clothes, draperies, men's clothes, wedding dresses, winter coats, dog coats, just anything I could.

This year I was at our downtown May-fest and walked past the quilting shop and went in. Mentioned that I've always wanted to quilt and they said classes were starting real soon. Signed up then and there. The whole class and learning experience didn't turn out like I hoped but I'm rather self sufficient and knew I could teach myself.

Since May I've completed 2 twin size tops(not quilted yet); 1 baby crib size, and several WIPs. Plus I got a book and have completed blocks for a log cabin lap size.

I can't tell you how much I've learned from this board.I still don't have the nerve to post a pix but maybe someday...... when I see some of pix posted I'm always amazed at the talent out there. Would love one day to be comfortable in your midst !
