Default I知 so embarrassed. Lol

Just have to share this amazing discovery..I’ve only sewn for about 62 years or so..I have this very wonderful Janome MC 11,000...of course I’ve only had it 4-1/2 years..have made just amazing projects, mastered the embroidery functions....and I’ve read the book cover to cover many times..but yesterday I was starting a new project, experimenting with different stitches. Noticed this little dot on every page...hmmm. Wonder what that Is? So I tried it...turns out it’s a locking stitch. So instead of taking a couple reverse stitches...yeah, it works great...better yet, there’s also that function key right above my stitching area, old dogs can still learn

Your not alone when it comes to learning to use these new machines. They are great to have.

No reason to be embarrassed these wonder machines have so many functions that it would be impossible to remember them all. I have started watching You Tube videos for my machine and sergers when I want to be refreshed at the different functions and also the use of the many presser feet. Yes, we learn something everyday about sewing and if I didn't I probably would take up something else. SewON!!

Yes, the new technology is great and I enjoy trying to keep up whether it is my newest sewing machine (2.5 years old) or the new smart phone or computer. However, there is so much more that these devices can do if I just learned to use them better. But, I guess I am happy with what I do use them for because I just don't take the time to learn new functions until I realize that I need that. Maybe, I need to be a teenager again...perish the thought!

You are NOT alone. I had the same AHA moment a few years back.

I'd been using my Brother 4000 for 7 yrs before I found I could move the needle position by pressing the stitch width button. But I never had any lessons on any sewing machines.

Don't feel embarrassed. It's great that you learned a new trick. Such fun to discover something new. It took me a while to finally use the locking stitch, pivot, scissors and laser light on mine.

I think we all have had that with different kinds of appliances, machines, tools and most everything else.
No reason to feel bad about it.
