Thanks craftybear! The video from Missouri Quilt Co. is the same technique but using a regular square up ruler. I'm always looking for a way to do something without having to buy another specialized notion. Thanks for helping me save money!

For the most part you are using a regular ruler for a 90 degree angle when doing tube quilts, as you want squares.
There are some patterns where you make hexagons, and then you would use the 60 degree.

I found the six inch Easy Square ruler will work great for the two strip tube. More then two strips you will need a larger size square ruler. I have the Strip Tube Ruler and it's good because I don't have a lot of ruler in the way.

thanks for posting the video. But I am confused (not unusual for me!). Jenny from Missouri Quilts started with 2 2-1/2 inch strips, sewn with 1/4 inch seam. She opened it up and said it measured 4 1/4 - is that right? Wouldn't it measure 4 1/2? Unless I misheard her? Very possible.
