I have used my new accuquilt Go to cut out 2 queen size strip quilts and my 10x 24 mat is already cut totally through in 2 places😩. I moved it around and turned it very frequently just as instructed but with this mat you can only relocate a small amount. My question is my 6 X 6 mat is much sturdier than the 10 x 24. Are there 2 different qualities availilable

Hard to believe your mat is shot only after 2 quilts. I have some mats that show wear, but none clear through. I'd send it back to them and tell them how many yards of fabric was cut and see if that was a defective mat.

I’m still using the same mat with my strip cutter after almost 3 years, it’s worn and will prob start a new one shortly but none of my mats ever cut right through

After 2 years and many many yards of 2 1/2 inch strips, I finally bought a new 10x24 inch mat. I'm not using it yet but I know my old one is looking scarred but it's not cut through anywhere. I agree it must be defective.

Topstitch--on the Accuquilt & Beyond FB page this came up--the people in the know said that if you are not cutting 4-6 layers of fabric the die blades cut deeper into the mat, and with the strip dies you are right, you just can't move the mat that much to vary the cutting location.

thank you for explaining that. I've never seen a magic cutter!Originally Posted by Patricia M.
You do not use a rotary cutter with the Accu Go Cutter, it is a machine that uses dies and a mat on top of the material while going through the machine.

The Accuquilt is a basic tool now for most. It's been on the market along with Sizzix for years now. There is always one page of ads for it in every quilt magazine. Most schools and businesses had the die cut paper cutter before it was discovered by quilters. Thus the Accuquilt came to be. Before the Accuquilt there was Alto Quilt Cut, then the Shape and Cut.Originally Posted by KalamaQuilts
