All I can say is "WOW" that is a beautiful quilt, so stunning. I would use an unbroken border with that "electric" blue binding. Please show again when the quilt is finished.

Also, if you mitre the border, you'll get a nice finish on a big print.
In my experience the only time tearing the fabric for the border is if you have an all-over print. This is a very distinct border print. I would cut it length wise, leaving a quarter-inch for the seam allowance. I'm afraid if you try to tear this one, it won't be straight with the pre-printed border. (Is that clear as mud?) I will say, though, that if you have an all over print, tearing it is a wonderful way to go and always give really straight borders,
especially when you are working with a long length. ) I also agree that mitering the borders will really make it look finished.

Gorgeous! I have a home for it if you get tired of it. After studying it, I would go with Gold Fabric and "audition" a dog-tooth border of Gold or just a plain Gold Border. You can go online and find lots of borders, which I didn't know for a very long time. I would just find one you like and see how you think it will blend with the rest of your quilt. Mariah
