    Default After New Year Blues!!!!

I have been so busy with just getting through all the feastivities now have settled down and getting into some serious stitching. I have just started a baby dragon quilt for our grandson whom will be appearing around end March. So need to get this baby quilt all finished. I have always wanted to do a dragon something and now is the time for it. I will post pictures as soon as I have something completed to show. I see all of you have been so busy as always and you are always my inspiration that I need to get stuck in and finish whatever I am working on. So thank you all for being my special quilting friends.

From a sunny hot (45*C) very hot South Africa.

One thing about living here in Louisiana that I love, Mardi Gras starts right after Christmas. It sure eliminates that after the holiday feeling that I remember too. So find something to celebrate along with your dragon quilt. I'd probably go dragon crazy with slippers, pillowcases, etc. Also, find something to laugh and smile about, after all ~ there's always you tube....

I used to get a bit down in the dumps after Christmas but since I started quilting I don't! I'm too busy working on new projects or getting back to ones I stopped working on for the holidays to get blue!

Yes, Sweet! You do have our characteristic JOI DE VIVRE. There is always something to chase the blues away. Happy Mardi Gras. Have you had any king cake yet?

Sewsie. We are having "warmish" weather today but by tomorrow it may be cold again. One thing about living in South Louisiana is all we have to do is wait a few hours and our temperature will change. Today, sunny and warm; tomorrow, rainy and cool. Yesterday was 37 degrees F. and by afternoon was in mid seventies.

Let us see your dragon quilt when it is finished.

My brother in W Texas called to say he was watching the snow and I am watching the rain with temperature about 37 degrees F. If we didn't need the rain so much, it would be depressing! But I've got a huge quilt--120 inches x 120 inches to get two sleeves stitched on so it can be taken to the Dallas quilt show. There are so many old TV shows on that the dogs and I will just have a great time stitch'n and dozn'. Can hardly wait to see your dragon quilt and perhaps the baby that it's for. froggyintexas

Right now it's about 70 and raining. They keep saying it's suppose to get cooler. Thunderstorms. I am always relieved when the holidays are over. For me it seems to be a nice short little break. I get the blues between Thanksgiving and Christmas. (?) Have little planned so therefore am getting lots of indoor things going like meal in the oven, clothes in the dryer. Some soaking for some stains. Anxious to see your quilt when finished. So many cute dragon designs around.

I too would get kind of down after the holidays. Not anymore! I cannot wait for it all to be over so I can get back in my cave room with all my goodies.

I was sick over the holidays with an upper respiratory something or other so I couldn't wait to do something once I was feeling better and quilting was the best remedy! I have been on a roll finishing up UFO's and now making valances for my 4 bedroom windows.
